Gabriela Rocha Personal Shopper Stylist

A stylist on the Visual Therapy team for four and a half years, Gabriela Rocha recently relocated from New York to Los Angeles where she’s been steadily growing our West Coast clientele. Gaby has an appreciation for all style types but her own personal taste leans towards edgy bohemian styles. Her ability to customize her styling and shopping techniques for each individual client and her knack for finding sold out and hard to find pieces are what make her a successful stylist.

To learn more about Gaby and her philosophies on fashion and personal style, keep reading.

How would you describe your style type?

I would say I am drawn to bohemian styles—I love suede, leather, and denim and I’ll always be a sucker for a printed maxi or midi dress. I love mixing vintage clothing with designer and contemporary pieces and I have a pretty vast collection of bucket bags. All in all, I think it’s safe to say I’m a boho babe.

Where are your favorite places to shop for clients? For yourself?

For my clients I love designer boutiques and department stores. Celine and The Row for handbags and shoes, Proenza Schouler for dresses, knits, and outerwear, and Neiman Marcus and Saks for everything else. For myself I shop second hand—The Real Real and Ebay are go-to’s but I also love Yoox and The Outnet for discounted designer pieces.

Who are some of your favorite designers?

I adore Proenza Schouler for edgy, funky ready to wear but I also love Dion Lee, Old Celine, Isabel Marant, Loewe, and Dries Van Noten.

What’s your favorite thing about being a stylist?

That’s easy. Instilling confidence in my clients and seeing the transformation they undergo when working with me. I also love the hunt for that sold out or rare piece.

What are three things every woman should have in their wardrobe?

A great leather jacket—either a biker or blazer style, a chic, everyday handbag, and pair of jeans that fit just right.

What do you think the big trends will be for 2020?

I think classic dressing will be big in 2020. We’re shying away from the more is more mentality that Gucci brought us in the last few years. The success of The Row and other brands that produce wardrobe staples are a sign of things to come.
