Visual Therapy's Jesse Garza

At Visual Therapy, we have a team of talented and experienced stylists curating our clients’ wardrobes and the content we post right here on our blog. We all work very hard behind the scenes shopping, styling client presentations, and attending various events and showroom appointments, but we rarely get to feature who we are and our own personal fashion philosophies.

We feel incredibly lucky to have such a close knit crew, and we’re proud to say we have team members all over the country—from our two small teams in Chicago and Los Angeles, to our home base group right here in New York. We wanted to give our readers a peak behind the curtain that is Visual Therapy and profile our top stylists, sharing their sartorial tips and why they love the work they do.

First up—Visual Therapy Co-founder Jesse Garza.

How would you describe your style type?

I am a true classic, through and through. I love, love, love classic pieces but I tend to style them in a chic way. As a business owner and stylist, I gravitate towards chic styling because it reads powerful and confident.

Where are your favorite places to shop for clients? For yourself?

For myself I like to collect special pieces, investing in accessories like shoes, belts, and watches. I love Hermès, Bottega Veneta, Tom Ford, and Cartier for those investment pieces. With separates I’ll mix high and low. I love Uniqlo for basics, Vince, and sometimes I’ll have my tailor recreate my favorite silhouettes in different colorways. I definitely have my outfit formulas—power business, casual, etc.

For my clients, the two department stores I love the most are Bergdorf Goodman and Saks. I also have strong relationships with some of my favorite brands and love to frequent their boutiques—Dior, Loro Piana, Hermès, and The Row.

What are some of your favorite designers?

I love Alaïa, Valentino, Dior, Hermès, The Row, and Loro Piana. They consistently have beautiful designs that are flattering and timeless.

What’s your favorite thing about being a stylist?

Empowering people through style and helping them feel confident and on point.

What are 3 items you think every woman should have in their wardrobe?

A perfect head to toe black look, a bold piece of jewelry to spice up the black look—a colorful stone accessory such as Sapphire earrings or a chunky Emerald ring. Last but not least, a beautiful handbag that goes with everything.

What do you think the big trends will be for 2020?

Buffalo plaid or check print will be huge, buy one piece like a blazer or a coat and wear it with a neutral baseline. A utility boot, Alaia has a great one right now, and the color green. Emerald green is the new black.
