Calcutta Marble
Semi precious stone use in interior design is nothing new, but it has recently taken off in a very big way. Our friend and jewelry designer Kimberly McDonald has just launched a fantastic new collection for home using stone. We love it when we hear of fashion people branching out into home or any other creative endeavor for that matter. We think it’s important to help clients express themselves in all areas of life! Kimberly has been the queen of stone for many years and was actually the first jewelry designer to mix geodes and crystal with precious stones and metals such as diamonds and 18k gold. Her jewelry collection is so popular that Bergdorf Goodman has dedicated an entire case in their new fine jewelry salon to her pieces.
Her home collection is inspired by the same idea and includes accessories, wall coverings, and even rugs in a collaboration with Marc Phillips. You can find Kimberly’s home collection at Bergdorf Goodman home and a larger selection of her rugs at Marc Phillips in New York. If you happen to find yourself in Los Angeles, be sure to visit Kimberly McDonald on Sunset.
Below you’ll find a preview of Kimberly McDonald home and some other inspirational applications of how we can ‘turn to stone.’
