Stylist Nikki Rose Shares Her (Covid-Safe) Travel Diary

Travel restrictions have begun to loosen in the last few months, and after being in lockdown for almost an entire year, we’ve all been anxiously waiting to indulge in a little R&R.

With new Covid safety precautions in place, air travel is no longer out of the question, and I was excited to take a trip after a full year of staying put. Safety is my main priority and I knew that if I was going to start traveling again, I would do so with caution and a heightened awareness of the current world situation.

A quarantine, a Covid test, and a double masked flight later and I was transported to paradise, otherwise known as Tulum, Mexico. I knew I’d end up spending most of my time outdoors and at a safe distance from others, and I was excited to trade New York’s frigid temperatures for a few warm tropical days.

I took a minimalist approach with the looks I packed, sticking to a simple travel capsule consisting of easy cover-ups, swimsuits, and a couple of light weight dresses. The majority of my trip was spent lounging on the beach—with a little light shopping and a few early dinners thrown in—so there was no real need to get dressed up.
