The “More is more” theme of the SS 2016 fashion season: it’s the ultimate mixology of prints, embroidery, patchwork, lace, contrasting bursts of color, short and long hemlines, fur details and 70s motifs. It’s easier than ever to fall a fashion victim, ultimately letting the clothes wear you. The only ones who can really pull off this look are fashion editors or rock stars (Harry Styles, we’re looking at you). But that doesn’t mean you can’t find creative ways to infuse the freshest trends into your style, without buying an entire rack of new designer clothes (not that we have anything against that!).

One way to keep it real is to pick one trend, and work it into a neutral baseline look. We love this example spotted in Paris: black flares, black clutch, and a statement Gucci dress worn as a tunic (the trend emerged at the Giambattista Valli fall 2015 show).
Another great example: Olivia Palermo doing the brocade trend with a Valentino coat on the February cover of Elle Malaysia.
Remembering to infuse trends will help you stay on track when you’re shopping this season. Also,stay clear on the things that are missing in your wardrobe. We recommend shopping with a list to help you stay focused!

P.S. On a positive note, SS2016 is the ideal season for fashion collectors. It’s abundant with pieces you’ll wear now, put away in your archives, and revisit later or pass on to your children. It’s the ultimate inheritance that will keep finding new life over and over!
