February 1, 2018 marked the 20th anniversary of Narciso Rodriguez’ eponymous clothing line. From the beginning, Barneys New York has carried Narciso’s elegant and beautifully tailored dresses and to help the designer celebrate this milestone, the retailer released a 9 piece capsule collection of his greatest hits of the last 20 years.
The collection is available to shop now, and a bit of history behind a few of the chosen dresses is below.
This super graphic dress was inspired by athletes, the gym, and kickboxing.

The sister dress of the one above, both dresses became signatures that inspired a multitude of future dresses.

This bias cut dress was inspired by 1930’s slip dresses, but more modern and streamlined with it’s high, low silhouette.
Fall 2013
The lavender dress drew inspiration from a kimono, while the burgundy dress was worn by Jennifer Aniston for the cover of Vogue in December 2008.
