Diana Vreeland with her son, Frederick, and her grandson Alexander
The new book on Diana Vreeland, Memos: The Vogue Years, edited by her grandson Alexander Vreeland, describes, in Diana’s own words, how she came to be one of the most influential people in fashion history. Vreeland, who was editor in chief of Vogue from 1962 to 1971, infused the magazine with a sense of originality and beauty, making it into the publication it is today. This new book, which will be available in early October, compiles over 250 of Vreeland’s personal letters and writings, most of which have never been published before. We can’t wait to get our hands on this book, and discover the method to the madness of Vogue’s glossy pages throughout the 1960’s. In the meantime, here are some of our favorite photographs of this glamorous icon.
