VT Home is the residential interior design division of Visual Therapy.
Created by VT co-founder Joe Lupo, VT Home is what Lupo believes to be the most logical extension of the Visual Therapy process. After co-writing three books on personal style and being recognized as a color expert, Lupo followed his passion and attended Parsons New School for Interior Design.
Lupo builds his unique vision for a space around balance and proportion. He believes that true style is a marriage between antiques, vintage, contemporary, and often custom furniture. A curator at heart, he understands that each item represents a client’s unique style and that optimal combinations create the perfect backdrop to call home.
Since launching VT Home, our studio has designed numerous homes in New York City and the Hamptons, as well as a collection of custom furniture under the VT Home name. Included in Lupo’s most recent projects are a contemporary loft in Chelsea, a Southampton oasis, a sleek pied-à-terre in the Greenwich Lane and an eight-room home in the historic Astor.
Joe Lupo is a Co-Founder and Creative Director of Interior Design at Visual Therapy. He unofficially began his career in fashion working in a high-end department store while still in high school. He graduated with a degree in finance from DePaul University and began working at a bank where he quickly advanced and became vice president at the age of 25. He left the world of banking in 1995 to start Visual Therapy in New York with friend Jesse Garza. With a natural eye for style, and an expert in color, he decided to further develop his passion by branching into interiors. In 2012, he began studying interior design at The New School at Parsons School of Design in New York and launched VT Home in 2014. Joe’s work has been featured in various publications including Interiors Magazine and New York Cottages and Gardens.
Jesse Garza is a Co-Founder and Creative Director of Styling at Visual Therapy. Jesse has worked in the fashion industry since he was 21, when he began selling clothing at Chicago’s renowned boutique, Ultimo. Mentored by the store’s founder and legendary style maven Joan Weinstein, Garza rose from working the sales floor to becoming creative director over a period of 10 years. During that time, he collaborated closely with the best names in fashion; staging runway shows, creating artful merchandising and adapting cutting-edge design for the Chicago market. Inspired by the creative partnership of designer Yves Saint Laurent and French businessman Pierre Bergé, Garza moved to New York to set up a luxury lifestyle consultancy with friend Joe Lupo. They launched Visual Therapy in 1995 based on a sincere belief in the transformative power of clothing chosen to express one’s truly unique personality. Since then, Garza — a self-described “Fashion Evangelist” — travels the country to work with a roster of clients.
