Insider Access: Gucci’s Fall/Winter 2017 Trunk Show

Gucci Pre Fall Trunk Show

A nature inspired sample gown from Fall/Winter 2016-17

When Alessandro Michele took over the reigns as Creative Director for Gucci early last year, we were as surprised as everyone else. The mysterious and eccentric designer was relatively unknown to the fashion community and a complete departure from the polished and understated former Creative Director Frida Giannini.

We were skeptical initially, his first collection for the iconic fashion house seemed costume-y and too outlandish for our clients. But, over the past few seasons, the romanticism of the collections and the couture-like detail work on each and every piece officially won us over. Alessandro’s Gucci is the brand’s rebirth, and his creative genius is taking us into a new era of fashion—one where fashion equals freedom.

This past Friday, we were invited to the Fall/Winter 2016-17 trunk show to preview runway samples and flag special pieces for our clients. The new Gucci is now the fashion frosting for our clients—we love the whimsical, nature inspired gowns, the decorative bomber jackets, and the array of romantic blouses. We arrived at the trunk show expecting a lot, and let’s just say, we were not disappointed. Our favorite pieces from the show are below.
