As we gear up for the new season and get ready to jump into beautiful fall fashion, we need to start with our bodies. It goes without saying that before thinking about putting together any outfit, it’s important to be healthy, clean and well groomed. Every detail, from your hair, to your nails, to the fragrance you wear, are part of the mix, as we wrote in our book “Nothing To Wear?”

A nutrient-packed smoothie is my favorite way to start the day, but it also makes for a satisfying afternoon snack. Instead of coffee or a cookie, reach for a smoothie as your afternoon pick-me-up, and see how amazing it makes you feel! Here are my three favorite smoothie recipes for every taste.

Raw Blueberry Bliss Smoothie

Breakfast-Criminals Blueberry Bliss Smoothie
Perfect for a hot summer day! Light and refreshing, this smoothie is packed with antioxidants.

Ingredients to blend:

 • 1/2 cup blueberries

• 1/4 cup raw almonds, soaked overnight and peeled

• 1/2 banana

• 1 small kiwi

• 2/3 cup coconut water

Toppings: Raw granola (crunola) from Le Pain Quotidien, kiwi.

Mint Chocolate Chip Smoothie
