A Stroll Down Melrose

Joe & Jesse

Jesse and I were just in LA for some pre-fashion week, Labor Day business and thought we would check out Melrose Place for our West Coast clients. We started with lunch at an all time fav Fig & Olive. After that, we popped into the Oscar de la Renta, Chloé and Isabel Marant boutiques to see how they buy the collections LA style. It is important to check out your favorite designer boutiques on each coast and across the pond because the merchandise varies based on climate and local demand and preference. Speaking of interiors and gorgeously designed spaces, the new Bottega Veneta concept store made its debut in June on Melrose Place and is definitely worth a visit. Not only is it a perfectly Peter Marino design (inspired by Mr. Maier’s own white-washed office), but the new space is filled with the hottest fall RTW and accessory collections for men, women and pets. You can also pick up some of the chicest home products since Hermès. The thing about the new white-washed design is that shopping and seeing the collection is easy, everything pops right out at you! We also loved stopping by Zero + Maria Cornejo store.

Take a short walk around the corner, or if you’re from LA – drive to check out the interior icon Kelly Wearstler’s store on Melrose. I am a long time fan of her ‘of the moment’ eye for design.  She has become a innovative lifestyle brand that includes our favorite hotels, restaurants and books on interiors to her one-of-kind accessories, furniture and fashion for you and your home. Look for my New York neighbor, Cameron Diaz’s apartment in Elle Décor’s September Issue designed by Wearstler and definitely check out Melrose the next time you are in LA.  -Joe
