Reed Krakoff’s photography book, “Women in Art: Figures of Influence“, published by Assouline, launched at Bergdorf Goodman last week. Celebrating the talent, beauty and creativity of women in the art world, it features intimate portraits of top gallerists and other leading women in the contemporary art community all wearing his clothes, from Almine Rech Picasso and Dominique Lévy to Valentina Castellani. Alongside each black-and-white portrait in the book, there is an art questionnaire a-la Assouline’s best-selling “The Fashion Questionnaire” as well as selected artwork.

According to Mr. Krakoff, working on “Women in Art” served as a design inspiration for him, just as working on “The Fighters of the UFC” inspired the best-selling Boxer bag. The designer confessed to Elle:We’re working on a bag now, actually, that is kind of an outgrowth of this book. It’s sort of a mix [of], an amalgam of all these women — the bag that I would see them all desiring. It’s coming out next spring.”
