Our Chicago-based stylist Kelsey tied the knot this summer – with VT style! One of our VT philosophies is that you don’t have to wear head to toe luxury brands to look gorgeous. Kelsey proved it by taking inspiration from Monique Lhuiller and Max Mara and adding her own twist to her outfits for the special occasion. Here’s her story…
For the rehearsal dinner, I took inspiration from Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s Max Mara outfit. I loved her minimal long sleeve dress with a completely open back, and found a look-alike online. I was going for a clean and polished look, so I kept the accessories to a minimum, and wore a pair of spiked stilettos.

Kelsey’s Rehearsal Outfit
For my wedding dress, I took inspiration from the stunning Addie gown by Monique Lhuillier. I was having a terrible time finding a dress that I loved every aspect of that still fell in my price range, so I bought the dress from a “ma and pa” shop in Michigan and completely transformed it. I truly wanted to make it my own, and thankfully I found the amazing Miranda of “Miranda’s Vintage Bridal & Alterations” who specializes in high quality alterations and restoration services. After showing her images of my dream Monique Lhuillier wedding gown, we found a way to incorporate the runway design into my dress.
