VT Home: Bohemian Style Type

VT Home Logo

In 2015, VT is pleased to announce our entry into home. Our motto has always been image, identity, clarity, and defining your style type gives you a place to begin. Once you have reached that clarity, it is a natural evolution to translate that into your environment as an expression of your authentic self.
Designing your home based on your style type (or at least infusing the elements) allows you to create the perfect space that represents the best version of you. Join us each week as we share our point of view on the incredible world of interior design, applying our principles and philosophies to everything from art and architecture to current trends and designers.

As we continue on our journey through VT Home Style Types, (we began the first week with “classic”, followed by “chic” and “whimsical”) this week, we’re visiting the “bohemian” home. This style type is relaxed and rustic, sometimes with ethnic influences, and with an occasional nod to natural elements such as fur, horn, stone and wood.

The VT point of view in our examples below almost always infuses an element of “chic”, even in a bohemian home. Take a look at some bohemian hits including a personal favorite of mine – the sexy Connecticut bedroom by Daniel Libeskind.

To drive the point home to the fashion folks, favorite bohemian clothing collections include Chloe, Isabel Marant and Haute Hippie for womenswear and Etro, Rag & Bone and Vince for men.

Stay tuned for the “Avant-garde” interior inspiration next week!
