Can you believe that style icon Kate Middleton, The Duchess of Cambridge had never consented to a magazine photo shoot until her cover story in this month’s centenary issue of British Vogue? We can’t either.
Well the wait was certainly worth it—shot by Josh Olins, the 10-page editorial follows Catherine to Norfolk (near the Royal family retreat), while she channels a relaxed, countryside take on the Classic Style Type.
Vogue reports that the Duchess was involved in selecting pieces for the shoot—everything from Burberry to Petit Bateau—along with Vogue‘s fashion director Lucinda Chambers and editor-in-chief Alexandra Shulman.
The result is a beautiful story that makes us excited for fall (even though summer isn’t even here yet!)
More about the Classic Style Type: Your sartorial choices are safe, clean, and traditional. You go for a timeless look that is polished and flattering with a smart flair.
In the Classic Style Type’s wardrobe you’ll mostly find neutral colors with the occasional pop of red or green. A white blouse or a crisp white shirt are staples. Accessories are simple—a strand of pearls or diamond studs—nothing ever over the top. Some famous Classics include Katharine Hepburn, Grace Kelly, and Kate Middleton.
