Paris Mode: Fall ’12 Trends

Have you been following the Paris Fashion Week? Looking at the Fall shows, it was very interesting to see the trends that we identified at our Live Style seminar in Atlanta last month. Here are my favorite looks that demonstrate it! –Lisa Marie

VT Trend: STONAL

I call it stonal… you call it Dior! Perfectly subtle like rocks in a river bed or beach glass, this trend works best for most of our clients when paired with white.

VT Trend: LADY

With his classic silhouettes, simplicity and elegance, Roland Mouret has been our “go to” for perfect ladylike dresses. The Fall ’12 collection featured more emphasis on separates and tailoring, but not without a few perfect “lady looks” – skinny belt and all!

VT Trend: POP

The Lanvin show opened with the first eight looks in stunning pop colors – like a chic crayon box. Clean and modern, the flattering lines took a giant step away from free flowing draping.

This Lanvin Fall '12 look features a belt in matte black similar to the one Emma Stone wore at the Golden Globes

VT Trend: MIXOLOGY

There is a true art to mixing patterns! If you do it right, you can let a print do all the work for you. The true master of the mix is Dries van Noten, who foiled an Asian inspired pattern against a black baseline in the Fall ’12 collection.

VT Trend: EMBELLISHMENT

Andrew Gn used embellishment to make a Victorian statement in his Fall ’12 collection. This gorgeous velvet gown’s sleeves with elaborate beadwork gracefully transition from the latticework shoulders.
