Paris Fashion Week Diary: Valentino Fall 2015

Held in the Tuileries Garden, the Valentino Fall/Winter 2015 show was a beautifully feminine and stunningly intricate collection.

Opening with graphic black and whites, Valentino designers Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli immediately had our attention. The runway show had a surreal Game Of Thrones element, which contributed to the perfect balance of sensuality and romanticism.

The black interior of the venue allowed the audience to become intimate with the beautiful details, such as Valentino’s signature lace (below). Dreamy! One of my favorite runway looks this season.

The embroidery on the gowns towards the end of the show was truly spectacular.

When the last model disappeared, I was ready to capture the finalé parade… but what happened was one of the most talked about moments in all of Paris Fashion Week! The 80s song “Don’t You Want Me” started playing, Jesse and I high-fived, and out came Derek Zoolander (Ben Stiller) and Hansel (Owen Wilson)!

The audience went wild and we all witnessed how fashion can make fun of itself and still retain its integrity. When Hansel dropped his coat from his shoulders, leaving it on the ground, I screamed, “That’s my move!” Brilliant! –x LM & Jesse
