Paris Fashion Week Diary: Lanvin Fall 2015

This year marks the 125th anniversary of Lanvin and its designer, Alber Elbaz, has triumphantly brought the house into this new age. While successfully honoring the history of the brand, he has breathed new life into it by giving today’s women not only glamour, but real clothes that are easy to wear. And while many brands today are being relaunched with new designers that ignore and push out the the core client with baby doll dresses and bohemian looks, Alber gives you something for a woman at every age.

There were tailored pieces that had a military chic flair, but according to Elbaz, they were inspired by the orchestra, not the army. The beautifully fitted and flowy dresses (with heels or boots) inspired by his Moroccan roots and bohemian dresses à la Yves Saint Laurent, are sure hits for day into evening.

David Gray, the manager of the Madison Avenue boutique was diligent about making sure we walked through the collection at the showroom, so we could share our feedback and flag looks for our clients. The experience of seeing the fantasy of the runway and seeing the reality in the showroom will certainly inspire us to line up these super chic looks next fall. Thank you, Lanvin! – Jesse & LM
