Men’s Style: Guide to Fall Coats

As fall approaches, I am always on the lookout for the best in outerwear. I am a firm believer that when it comes to coats, you’d better snap them up before the season hits full throttle. Outerwear pieces are always my favorite collectibles, wear them for the season and revisit later on. Sizes are typically limited and believe me, the picks below will not be joining the end of season sale rack!  -Joe

1. Dior Homme

This Dior Homme coat is that perfect transitional coat. It  will end up being a “go to” coat that dresses up whatever you are wearing.  Keep it on (for a while) indoors looking chic but not conspicuous.

2. Bottega Veneta

This incredible double faced cashmere coat is an absolute favorite because it has the feel of a ‘knit’ jacket. Completely unstructured, it also travels extremely well and can be worn over a jacket or suit with easy shoulders.

3. Tom Ford

This cashmere plaid overcoat with peek lapel is the ultimate statement piece.  The cut is close to the body (for a true overcoat) and can be worn over a suit.  Don’t be afraid of pattern mixing as shown here in the TF lookbook.

4. Belstaff

This utilitarian chic piece is pure functionally sexy luxury.  It’s definitely the trench of the season.

This Bottega jacket is another great option, because you do need a gray leather jacket this fall.
