Dior Homme Fall 2013: A great dressed-up outerwear piece
Even though it is mid-summer and the heat is on, I am starting to think about and plan fall wardrobes. I popped into Dior Homme the other day to check out what has arrived for Fall. I was invited upstairs to see the new made-to-measure program. There are three base models to choose from – seemingly based on body-type. The program was extensive with luxurious fabrics choices and modern fits on each model.
In the past, I have always just taken a quick glance at Dior because the fit was so slim and wasn’t always wearable for most guys. To my surprise, I found some incredible pieces. The Ready-to-Wear options now fit a slim, worked out and even a slightly fuller body.
I am always looking for pieces that can be worn as outerwear or a jacket to dinner. I love that Van Assche used zippers instead of buttons and modern geometric graphics. The collection remains slim looking, super modernist and slightly futuristic but most importantly it’s wearable.
I have selected a few of my favorite looks from the runway to inspire you. -Joe
