Dubbed “the two coolest human beings on the planet” by Net-A-Porter founder Natalie Massenet, Dutch fashion photographers (and VT friends) Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin have been creating magic in the fashion world for 28 years. From shooting ad campaigns for the Gap to directing music videos for Lady Gaga (remember “Applause?” Yeah, that was them), their newest fashion venture stems from something much more intimate–their love.
Collaborating with Ten Thousand Things, a niche jewelry brand known for their organic minimalistic pieces, the pair launched a jewelry collection that began with a necklace of their interlocking wedding rings adorned with a pave drop and star pendant (representing their son, Charles Star) that Vinoodh had commissioned for Inez the year before. From there stemmed 10 more necklaces, one for every year of their son’s life, each with a different stone with the final eleventh necklace dangling with all 10 stones. Their newest collection features 14 colored bands from hues derived from the pair’s home.
From double bangles of ruby beads to interlocking gold rings, the duo’s philosophy is clear: all good things come in pairs. So if you have a special someone in need of a gift for this holiday, these meaningful pieces might be just what you’re looking for.
