Power, talent, generosity and love – a rare recipe for a better world. We recently started a conversation about what it means to be “Tastefully Sexy” on HuffPost Style, with an idea of spreading the word that when you are tastefully sexy AND doing things to improve the world, it’s so much more powerful than just looking hot in front of the camera. Last night’s Happy Hearts Fund Gala with Petra Němcová was full-on proof that there is a whole movement in the making, with incredible people on the forefront.

Our dear friend Diana Hall invited us on behalf of Chopard to the Happy Hearts Fund Gala in celebration of the achievements created 10 years after the Indian Ocean Tsunami. The black tie awards ceremony was held at Cipriani Midtown complete with cocktails, dinner, performances and most importantly, love and generosity. It is a rare occasion when there are such huge superstars from different industries in one room for one cause.
The dynamic Petra, through her unstoppable nature and contagious charisma, manages to capture the hearts of President Bill Clinton, President of Haiti Michel Martelly, Naomi Watts, Donna Karan, Karlie Kloss, Coco Rocha and John Legend, to name a few. Apl from the Black Eyed Peas performed solo, as did Wyclef Jean, and the President of Haiti with Sheryl Crowe performing to conclude the evening.

We had the chance to chat with Apl about the adoption of his child from the Philippines and he shared with us that he himself was put up for adoption at the age of 13 for the chance of a better life in America. He was a child benefactor of this very kind of charitable system and feels that he owes his life and success to helping children. Very inspiring!
Thank you Chopard for a truly memorable evening. – Joe and Jesse
