Chloé Mendel Introduces New Line of Faux Furs

It seems as though faux fur is the way of the future. Recently, brands such as Gucci, Calvin Klein, and Ralph Lauren have pledged to show entirely fur-free collections going forward, and a number of new exclusively faux fur brands have begun to pop up, proving that luxury fashion doesn’t always have to coincide with real furs and animal skins.

You wouldn’t think that the daughter of a famous furrier would be interested in faux anything, but Chloé Mendel—daughter of Gilles Mendel—has taken her experience in the fur industry and launched Maison Atia, a line of luxury faux fur pieces. Her thought process on her new brand was to create accessible luxury—real furs are expensive and not necessarily for everyone—but the outerwear pieces at Maison Atia are not only beautiful and sustainably made, they’re a tenth of the price of real fur.

See some of her chic offerings below and shop her coats online at Maisonatia.com or in person at Flying Solo at 434 W Broadway in New York City.
