Tomas Maier Fall ’15
Last spring, Tomas Maier opened the second Manhattan boutique for his eponymous line of luxury fashion. The talented designer, who is also the creative director for Bottega Veneta, established his brand in 1997 and became well known for his exquisite knits and beautifully crafted swimwear.
The boutique, located in a gorgeous West Village townhouse, occupies 900 square feet of the 19th century home. The decor is laid back and rustic with painted white brick walls, Moroccan rugs, and custom oak flooring. The natural interior is the perfect canvas to display the designer’s luxurious leather goods and the colorful pieces from his most recent collection in Maier’s signature effortless, unform-like spirit.
We like to say that Bottega is what you wear to dress up, and Tomas Maier is what you wear on the weekend.
We were excited to visit Maier’s first New York City boutique when it opened last fall in an Upper East Side townhouse on Madison Avenue and have made many shopping trips since. Spanning 4,000 square feet and two levels, the flagship store is a vision in white with a single dark sculptural staircase, and flawlessly merchandised oak shelving.
But, we have a feeling we’ll be spending lots of time shopping for clients in this new beautiful space downtown!
