Paris Fashion Week 2011: Highlights

Are you anticipating to put away the winter layers and turning to fun summer outfits? We are! Yet our minds are with the edginess shown at the Paris Fall/Winter 2011 Fashion week.

My favorite collection was Alexander McQueen. I felt that Sarah Burton did an incredible job in moving the collection in the sartorial path of the late master.

Most notable were the pieces that combined luxurious textures, such as this dress with fur.

I loved the drop-waist dresses!

Incredible couture details! The mood of the late master remains edgy.

My favorite picks from Paris Fashion Week were mostly from Akris, because I found it to be the most wearable and chic collection.

I am loving this camel skirt suit with the tonal fur trim collar.  It can be used for business or broken up to wear the jacket casually weekends.

For black-tie I am obsessed with this modernist long red dress from. I would style it featuring a stack of diamond bangles on one arm and a fabulous cocktail ring on the opposite hand.

My clients are asking for more color (even in the Fall) and Valentino has all the right answers in the Fall/Winter 2011 collection.

This teal leather coat does the color trick! I would pair it with charcoal gray – either a dress or skinny pants with a blouse.

Although I thought Maria and Pier Paolo played it safe, there was a lot of prettiness happening at Valentino. And I’m a sucker for anything snakeskin, so I’ll have to pull a grand heist for those python knee boots : )

Sarah Burton is doing a flawless job at keeping Alexander McQueen’s legacy alive. I thought her Fall collection for the house was theatrical, fresh, topped with lots of amazingness! Not to mention the must-have boot for next Fall!
