We kicked off our Macy’s Work It tour at Roosevelt Field Mall in Garden City, NY a couple weeks ago. The women in the audience were so inspiring, and we had a fabulous time teaching them how to update their work wardrobes with Alfani’s chic fall collection. Check out some of the looks from the show, and if you’re in the Chicago area, tomorrow we’re stopping by Macy’s Oakbrook at 6 pm to teach more women how to work it!
BASELINE DAY EVENING
We’ve created a tried and true formula that makes getting dressed for different occasions very easy. Marsha started with a black skirt and top as her baseline. A baseline consists of flattering monochromatic basics in neutrals like charcoal, black, navy, or ivory. For day we added a ruffled blouse, black belt, and cardigan. For evening we swapped the blouse, cardigan, and lace-up boot for a sheer lace cardigan and peep-toe pumps.
We helped Suzanne create a travel capsule that will take her from the plane to a meeting. We started with skinny black pants, a basic white camisole, and a belted heather gray cardigan. For a work-appropriate outfit, we put her in a leopard scarf, structured jacket, and clean suede wedges.
We also pulled two unassuming audience members for spontaneous makeovers. How’s that for a dramatic reveal? Rachel (in the sequined dress) dedicates her life to helping children with special needs, while Birdie invests her time in breast cancer charity work. This makeover was all about good karma. Alfani kindly gifted them their new festive looks.
