The only way you haven’t heard of Sandra Bullock’s extraordinary performance (and appearance) in Alfonso Cuarón’s “Gravity”, is if the rules of gravity don’t apply to you. Let’s be real: at 49, the highest-paid actress in Hollywood, producer, and a single mother of an adorable adopted son Louis, Bullock looks better than ever, showing by example what being the best version of yourself means.
With an attitude of the girl next door, serious ambition and an incredible talent, Sandra Bullock has made herself a household name in America. Not only is she an actress who has won a Golden Globe, an Academy Award, and a SAG Award, among others for her leading roles, but she is also a producer with her own production company, Fortis Films. Peter Chernin, the former Fox studio chief who has worked with Sandra, refers to her without hesitation as “the biggest female movie star in the world.”
Bullock lives by these words: “I’m a true believer in karma. You get what you give, whether it’s bad or good.” Her new movie, “Gravity”, will affect you much deeper than your typical action or thriller movie, and we love the lesson that Sandra took from it: “It’s about rebirth. How do you let go in the worst possible situation, so you can have some kind of release and peace? Life is not going to stop coming at you. In the end, you just have to say, “I have no control.” Your time is precious. Are you really going to waste it worrying about this stuff?”
A supporter of the American Red Cross, Bullock has donated millions to the organization, helping the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake and tsunamis, the 2010 Haiti earthquake, and the 2011 Japan earthquake, among other causes. Along with other celebrities, she has used her influence to support the effort to clean up the Gulf of Mexico oil spill. Bullock has also been recognized for helping expand career openings for Hispanic talent in the media and entertainment industry.
A Chic style type, Sandra goes for a powerful look with sharp lines that seem to come together in an effortless way. On the red carpet, she looks feminine and sleek in Elie Saab, Vera Wang and Marchesa.
