Claudia Schiffer has just launched a knitwear line on Net-a-Porter, and we love her soft, cozy cashmere pieces! Watch the German beauty talk about how the collection came together, its inspiration and how it feels to be on the other side of fashion after 24 years of modeling in this T Magazine video. Undoubtedly an icon, Claudia is the next heroine of our Visual Therapy – Icons blog post series.
A gorgeous woman who has appeared on over 500 magazine covers, an entrepreneur, a fashion designer, an actress, a wife and a mother… now that’s a number of gifts! With all that, she still remains sweet, approachable and down-to-earth.
At 41, Claudia Schiffer completely embraces her age and looks more beautiful than ever. Despite the domination of teenage girls on the runways, she knows the value of maturity and shares it with confidence. In one interview, she said: “I know one day I’ll be considered too old. I think 40-year-old women actually look more healthy and fit than some girls in their 20s. I’ve met women who have way better bodies in their 40s because they’ve been working on them for all these years.”
Schiffer supports several causes, from prevention of cruelty to children to fighting AIDS and Breast Cancer. She supported the Breakthrough Breast Cancer’s efforts to raise funds by being the face of one of its campaigns in 2010.
Claudia’s style is an eclectic mix of high-fashion designer labels and fast fashion brands. She definitely knows how to pick the right accessories, whether it’s a printed scarf, a waist belt or a great bag. The model goes for classic chic style (take our quiz from “Nothing to Wear” to find out what your style type is) and always hits the right notes, whether she’s walking the red carpet or taking her kids to the park.
