Futuristic Gallery at The Iconic “101”

Halston at his house at 101 East 63rd Street

Our friend Patty Findlay, a marketing strategist for luxury brands, invited us to a really chic event that she hosted at 101 East 63rd Street, – an iconic townhouse known as the “101”, now on sale. Designed by Paul Rudolph for fashion designer Halston, this modernist space has hosted and been the home of many celebrities, including Gunter Sachs, playboy from 60s who married Brigitte Bardot.

I am obsessed with Halston’s design and aesthetic, and it was amazing to see where he lived! The artwork – including a giant black and white photo of Brigitte Bardot by Richard Avedon, prints by Gunter Sachs, and other pieces from Sachs’ extensive collection – was very dramatic and gave the space a feel of a futuristic gallery. We loved the event for its brilliant combination of art and design! –Jesse
