Being a fashion stylist and author, I’ve always believed that fashion is just another way of expressing yourself, telling your story, and being empowered. In 2014, I hope to share my message with even more friends and clients, and am so happy to see that this philosophy is becoming a universal belief. Just look at the latest Elle, in which motivational speaker Gabrielle Bernstein is announced as a guest blogger for Elle.com. A fashion lover herself, Gabby believes that “fashion is a way to share your authentic truth… And it’s not dependent on a label or price – it’s about how what you’re wearing makes you feel.” I couldn’t have said it better myself!
I just got back from spending Christmas with my family in Alabama (it’s always so inspiring!), and then celebrating New Year’s Eve and my birthday in Miami with friends. It made me realize once again how important it is to surround yourself with people who are on the same path. For me, it’s about being good to yourself and others, taking care of your body, being healthy, staying inspired, and supporting each other.
They say that when you’re ready to move on and grow, the right teachers will appear. Meeting new friends during my vacation in Miami – author and guru Antonio Almeida, personal trainer Tanya Etessam, and a super stylish and successful couple, Allan and Andrea, proved it for me.
This year, we’ll be doing a series of interviews on healthy living in the FEELIN’ IT section of our blog. Health, fitness, and spiritual gurus will share their tips with you on being healthy, happy and connected. Stay tuned! -Jesse
