Winter is coming to an end soon (thank goodness!). This means that you should rethink on how you  take care of your skin. Remember, your skin is the basis to a beautiful glowing look.

As the weather warms up, it is important to transition into lighter beauty products. Give your skin a break and opt for a gel cleanser, serums and a lighter moisturizer. Water-based, sheer foundations are also a better choice since they look much more natural.

To help you bring out your brightest glowing face, I’ve put together a simple but effective 4-step skincare routine that is part of my philosophy for skin health. I will also share a few of my celebrity favorite professional treatments that I provide at Gotham Plastic Surgery.

1.  CLEANSE

Wash your face with a good cleanser. This is a no-brainer. People tend to use harsh soaps and scrubs that make the skin look dry. Dry skin emphasizes wrinkles (we all have them), which causes you to look older. It is important to use a gentle cleanser that will cleanse skin from dirt and oil that can accumulate throughout the day.  My favorite gel cleanser is Is Clinical Cleansing Complex.

2.  TREAT

In the morning after cleansing I recommend using a Vitamin C Serum with 15 % L-Ascorbic Acid. Vitamin C stimulates collagen and brightens the skin. At night use a product with Retinol for skin rejuvenation.  I recommend LE MIEUX Retinol Serum –  it combines a time release 0.5 % pure retinol and peptides.

3.  HYDRATE

This is a very important step.  Look for a moisturizer or Hydrating Serum with Hyaluronic Acid. Hyaluronic Acid will plump your skin and keep it hydrated. My favorite is LE MIEUX Hyaluronic Serum.

4.  PROTECT

Always protect your skin with a Zinc Oxide sunscreen. Sun is the #1 factor that causes skin aging.  Never skip your sunscreen – even on cloudy days. UV Rays can penetrate clouds and affect your skin. My patients LOVE Elta MD UV Shield SPF 45.  It is oil free and it goes on the skin clear so you won’t look like a ghost.

I also recommend a scrub with enzymes once or twice a week to remove dead skin cells and keep your skin glowing.  Is Clinical Exfoliating Enzyme Treatment will give you the Glow that you are looking for.

 Spring/summer treatments by Fabricio Ormonde:

Red Carpet Facial Treatment

This is a combination of Pelleve Radio Frequency technology that tightens and firms the skin followed  by  a resurfacing mask with Glycolic Acid and retinol.  The results : brighter, firmer, tighter younger looking skin. You will see immediate and last long results. For best we recommend 3 treatments 4 weeks apart.

MicroPen Skin Needling

Automated Micro-Needling (also known a Collagen Induction Therapy or CIT) is a new innovation in aesthetic medicine for the treatment of fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars and stretch marks. During this procedure, tiny needles are used to create controlled micro-injuries into the skin in order to produce collagen and elastin.  The downtime ( recovery time ) is 1-2 days of redness.  Results : Wrinkle reduction, texture, tome improvement and softer, younger looking skin with fewer signs of aging.
